Hi I’m Ann Foster and I would like to invite you to take a look around my Bedroom Boutique.

Being born and raised in Scotland, where the climate can be cold even in summer, has given me the desire to create warm and inviting places for people to call home.

Even as a child I was always decorating our house, you just need to ask my mum, but that’s story for another time. I arrived in New Zealand in 1990 and very soon realised that my passion for home décor and design could also become my business. Taking my existing talents to the next level I set about studying as an Interior Designer, and after qualifying I launched my own interior design business.

I’ve always felt that bedrooms have a special part to play in making a house a home. However since becoming quite sick in the early part of 2015 my bedroom became even more important to me than ever. No matter what was going on in my life, and believe me when I say it was considerable, I found I could always retreat to the sanctuary of my beautiful bedroom and feel instant peace. For that period of time, whether it was 8 hours or 10, when I closed my bedroom door I was in complete control of my life, nestled in my own oasis of calm and tranquillity. Having my special place to retreat to definitely made the difference between maintaining my serenity or totally losing the plot!

The reason bedrooms are so special is very much about how they make you feel. Having discovered how empowering it is to have your own place to retreat, feel safe and nurtured in I decided to launch Bedroom Boutique. Bedroom Boutique is not just a place for women to come for help with interior design. It is the place to come for help in reclaiming their own slice of heaven, so they too can step out into the world each day stronger and rejuvenated. My mission is to help women, who want to regain their sense of peace and calm, to face the world and what life throws at them in the knowledge they have their own sanctuary waiting for them at home.
